BJP activist shot dead by Naxalites in Andhra Pradesh

KARIMNAGAR, March 30: A BJP worker was shot dead by naxalites of the outlawed People's War Group (PWG) at Jagitial town in Karimnagar district of Andhra Pradesh tonight.

Police said two motor cycle-borne extremists barged into a telephone booth and opened fire, killing the BJP activist, identified as P Parameshwar Reddy (30), on the spot.

Two other associates of Reddy -- Velupala Adam Madukar Reddy and Ramesh were injured in the firing, sources in the police said. They added that the two associates had been shifted to a Hyderabad hospital.
