Class XII students complain about tough maths paper

NEW DELHI, March 30: Delhi class XII students today found their Maths paper difficult to handle. Complaints poured in with students protesting that the paper was too lengthy and phrased in a vague manner. ``A missing `hence' in question number 27 in set number II, changed the entire meaning of the question,'' said Gaurav, a student of Delhi Public School, Vasant Vihar. Padmini, a student of Mater Dei School, said: ``The six-mark questions were lengthy and complicated, unlike what was released in this year's sample papers or what had appeared in the last 10 years' papers.''

According to Vanika Thakur from Bhatnagar International School: ``We had a question on area which involved very lengthy calculations and was indirect as well.'' Said Tarika, another student from Mater Dei: ``The first 15 questions were a cake-walk. But as one moved towards the 4-marks and the 6-marks questions, one didn't know how to start. A question on the Maxima-Minima really took time to solve.''

S.N. Chibber, secretary of the Mathematics Association says: ``In my opinion, question number 22 was a little lengthy. Question 26 has been appearing in the boards for the last three years, this year they (CBSE) said that the students must draw the scatter to support their answer. This had the students panicking,'' he said.
