Naeem Ali to perform in city

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, March 30: Ghazal singer Naeem Ali will hold a Shaam-e-ghazal programme at Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Gruh on Wednesday evening.

Ali, who has performed in more than 1,000 concerts all over the country and abroad, will be performing for the second time, after a gap of 15 years.

Popularly known as India's Ghulam Ali, the New Delhi-based composer-singer whose cassettes `Khuvaeesh' and `Tum Chale Aana' are scheduled to be released by April-end, learnt his trade from his father Ustad Nabijaan Khan and grandfather Padamshree as well as Padmavibhushan Ustad Ahmed Jaan Tirikva and Ghulam Ali.

The Baroda Humanity Centre which is organising the event, aims to raise about Rs 50,000 which would be used for various charitable activities in the city.

The Centre and the adjoining charitable hospital located near Laljikui Masjid, Nagarwada, has also been financially supporting over 60,000 students of the city.

The programme is scheduled to begin at around 9 pm and last for two hours.
