Kannada book release function

The Mysore Association, Bombay and the Department of Kannada, University of Mumbai are organising a function to release the book Kannada Bhasha Meemamse by late Professor Chidambara Dixit, who was the first professor and Head of Department of Kannada at the University. The function will be held at 6.30 pm on Saturday, April 3 at the NKES Hall, Indulal Bhuva Marg, Wadala.

The book is being released by Prof Shrikrishna Bhat Arthikaje, Head of Department of Kannada, University of Madras.

Colonial Cousins to hold concert

A concert by Colonial Cousins is being organised as part of a fund raising drive by Bombay Round Table No 2 at Rang Bhavan on Saturday. Bombay Round Table, a social organisation, works among mentally handicapped children at Mankhurd in a project named Sahyog. For donor passes, call on mobile no 98200 74856.

Rasika Ranjani Sabha revived

Rasika Ranjani Sabha, a cultural organisation, which was inactive for around four years, has beenrevived. The aim of the sabha, which was established almost three decades ago in Ghatkopar, is to promote art and culture, particularly in the eastern suburbs. The sabha began its programs for this year with a music concert by S P Ramh and party, followed by a Tamil drama in February.

Several cultural programmes have been lined up for the year, including a dance performance by Sudha Chandran and a concert by the well-known Priya sisters. The Sabha also runs special coaching classes for music as well as yoga and dance classes.

Ex-students' reunion

The Mithibai Ex-Students Association (MESA) and Mithibai College, Vile Parle (West), will hold a reunion on April 17 at the Mithibai College terraces at 6.30 pm. Programme on spring held

A festival of spring and cultural programmes, sponsored by Sujangarh VikashParishad, was held in Mumbai on March 27. The programme was attended by Rajasthan minister of state for rural development, Panchayat Raj Bhawarlal Meghwal and nearly 400 persons.

MSEB secretary appointed

Chitkala Zutshi, IAS, has joined the Maharashtra State Electricity Board as Secretary. Earlier she was Secretary, Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
