PATALIA, April 1: Vishwa Hindu Parishad International General Secretary Praveen Togadia inaugurated two Gram Shikshan Mandirs in the remote areas of Narmada district on Thursday. Vishwa Hindu Parishad workers and office-bearers from various parts of the state accompanied Togadia to the inauguration ceremony; also present was Bharuch MP Mansukh Vasava of the Bharatiya Janata Party.The schools are said to have been inaugurated in a bid to nullify the work of Christian missionaries in the state by facilitating education for the illiterate and economically backward of the district.
There are as many as 53 such schools in Sagpada and Chiriapada of the district and activists aim at setting up as many as 200 such schools by the end of this year.
According to Togadia, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has set up 1,035 schools in the Vanvasi and claims to start 5,000 more such schools in the district, catering to children in the 5-12 age group. The members have also chalked out an elaborate syllabus for the students who would be studying in these schools. The students would be taught for three hours daily in these schools. Teachers and learned educationists from various parts of the state will be teaching in these schools.
