Man ends life in city
Rafiq Ahmed Hamid Shaikh (30), a resident of Mithikhadi area of Limbayat, committed suicide by hanging himself on Wednesday night. According to the police, he was a resident of block no 68. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered and investigations are on, the police said, adding, the reason behind the extreme step was still being ascertained.

Burns death
One Chameliben Shankar Katre (55), a resident of Trilok Society, Ved Road succumbed to burn injuries on Thursday morning in the Maskati hospital, where she was being treated for burns sustained on March 10. The Chowk Bazaar police said she was making tea on a kerosene stove when it exploded, causing serious injuries to her. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered.

Arrested
The Mahidharpura and Katargam police have arrested three persons involved in separate crimes committed in the recent past. Manu Dahya Bariya alias Manko (24), a resident of Gotalawadi area of the city, was arrested late on Wednesday night by the police in connection with the murder of Gordhan Manga Sosa (18), a notorious bootlegger who was stabbed to death three days ago. Sosa's body was found murdered with eight stab wounds. Bariya will be produced before a magistrate on Friday. The Mahidharpura police also announced the arrest of one Mayur Raman Patel, a resident of A K Road and Soma Mohan of Lambe Hanuman Road. Both were involved in separate cases of rioting registered in the police station last week.

Girl crushed
Vadodara: A young girl was crushed to death and another severly injured when a recklessly driven tempo hit them near Lal Bagh area on Thursday morning.
