Warring BJP factions meet Mahajan

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, April 1: BJP leaders owing allegiance to warring factions of the local unit of the party called upon Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pramod Mahajan here today.

Sources said that differences within the local BJP unit figured among the issues discussed with Mahajan.

Earlier, when asked about the differences in the local unit, Mahajan said he no longer took care of party affairs. ``However, I would convey the same to Home Minister L. K. Advani,'' he added.

While Mayor Kewal Krishan Adiwal and former Mayor Kamla Sharma formed part of the group owing allegiance to local MP Satya Pal Jain, other leaders owing allegiance to the ruling party faction, headed by party president Dharam Pal Gupta and former president Gian Chand Gupta, also discussed the infighting with Mahajan.

The minister reportedly asked the factions to work for betterment of the city and assured that the matter would sorted out amicably. Mahajan also discussed several party-related issues.
