AMRITSAR, April 1: The human rights wing of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has decided to join people's march being organised by Dal Khalsa on April 4.The proposed march would go to the residence of Chief Minister to demand the release of Sikh detenues languishing in jails and government help for the kin of militants and other persons killed by police during militancy.
This was stated here today by Surinder Singh Ghariala, chairman of the human rights' wing. He said they would also organise a shradhanjali sabha at Akal Takht to pay tributes to the great martyrs of 20th century like Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, who was killed during Operation Bluestar.
Ghariala criticised SAD leader Balwinder Singh Bhundar for holding Bhindranwale responsible for terrorism. He said Bhundar had given a clean chit to Congress party which played the mischievous game in Punjab.
Paramjit Kaur Khalra, wife of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, would also join the march.
Kanwarpal Singh, secretary general of Dal Khalsa, in a separate statement said a rally would be organised before the beginning of the march.
