PUNE, April 1: Badami Haud Sangh lifted the Late Namdeo Shedge memorial trophy as they defeated Rana Pratap Sangh 40-21 in the final of the Saraswati Krida Sanstha organised kabbadi tournament at the Natu Baug ground, Bajirao road.The final encounter was fought evenly till the half time wherein the winners lead by a narrow five ponts (19-13) margin. Nitin Khapte and Sanjay Kirpale starred for the winners while Sachin Kondre and Amar Singh Chauhan tried hard for their side, however, they could not do much, lacking support from other members of the side.
Earlier, en route to the final, Rana Pratap Sangh had to go though some difficult time before getting past Sneha Vikas Sangh, Akurdi 38-30. On the other hand, Badami Haud Sangh had an easy outing outwitting Abhinath Sangh 42-14.
Individual prizes were given for best all round performance in the meet. Sanjay Kirpale of Badami Haud was adjudged as the `Best All Rounder', while Raju Pol of Sneha Vikas was awarded with the best catcher prize. Sachin Kondhre of Rana Pratap Sangh was announced as the `Best Raider'.
