State-owned banks to work more hours

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, APRIL 4: Bracing up to competition from private and foreign banks, leading public sector banks are planning to extend their banking hours for the public. Though no time frame has been set for the extended working hours, leading state-owned banks including SBI and Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) would implement the new timings in this fiscal itself.

SBI is planning to have double shifts system to provide its customers around eight hours of banking operations. OBC would extend banking hours by two hours at all the computerised branches.
