Girl raped, strangled in Ghaziabad
A 13-year-old girl was gangraped allegedly by three persons in the Loni area of Ghaziabad on Saturday. The girl was raped then stabbed and killed.

According to the police, Anil, Sheeshpal and Rajan lured the girl to a lonely area and then raped her. When the girl threatened to make the crime public, they strangled her. The girl's father, a resident of Dabur Colony in the Loni Police Station area of Ghaziabad, registered a case naming Anil, Sheeshpal and Rajan as the accused.

Minor fire at Pragati Maidan
A minor fire broke out in the Orissa pavilion at Pragati Maidan around 1 p.m. today. The decorations and wood work on the top of the pavilion building were reduced to ashes. No casualties have been reported so far. Four to five tenders doused the fire. The care-taker of the pavilion, Harish Chandra Naik, who was inside the pavilion during the incident escaped unhurt.
