NEW DELHI, April 4: The Northern Railways has made arrangements for pilgrims visiting the Anandpur Sahib to mark the tercentenary celebrations of the Khalsa Panth. Apart from augmenting its train services, the railways will also start two new festival specials.The passenger train, running between Ambala-Sarhind and Nangal dam will have 10 new coaches and all trains stopping or ending at Anandpur Sahib will have more coaches depending on the requirement. The service will start from April 5.
The two new festival coaches will run between Anandpur Sahib and Sarhind daily. While the first train will leave Anandpur at 9 and Sarhind at 12 in the morning, the second special train will leave Anandpur at 3 and Sarhind at 5.50 in the evening.
Some trains will stop at Sirhind from April 10 to 20. These include the Howrah-Amritsar mail, Himrigi Express, the Swaraj trains, Sarvodaya Express, Shane-Punjab Express, Malwa Express and Nanded-Amritsar Express.
