NEW DELHI, APRIL 7: Unhappy with the party's functioning and the "campaign" launched against him by some of his colleagues, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Madan Lal Khurana plans to announce his "future course of action" within the next week.Sources close to him said Khurana, who had resigned from the Union Cabinet and the national executive of the party, was annoyed with the atmosphere created within the party by some colleagues who were painting the former Delhi chief minister as a "dissident and a rebel".
They said Khurana would fight it out by remaining in the party and "expose the power-brokers who have got entrenched in the party and are now trying to tarnish the party's image".
Khurana, who has had several meetings with top central party as well as Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders, was not enamoured of any position, the sources said.
When contacted on the crisis engulfing the BJP-led coalition following withdrawal of AIADMK ministers from the Government, Khurana regrettedthat he has not been contacted so far by the party leadership to contribute his mite in securing the support of some parties.
"There are some weak links within the parties which supported the Government and some others whose support could be explored," he said adding that he has been instrumental in securing the support of four-MPs Indian National Lok Dal-led by Om Prakash Chautala.
Khurana, who had remained silent for the last two months after resigning from the Government, said he had done tapasya (hard work) for the party to come to power and "now how can one reconcile to the party's present state of affairs".
Sources said the former chief minister was sore that he had been sidelined in the recent Delhi Assembly by-elections when he was not even asked to campaign for the party candidates and some elements charged that he was not working for the party.
The sources said Khurana had also been ignored when the party celebrated its one year in office and this had "hurt" his sentiments.
Theyalso expressed their annoyance over the recent tea-party hosted for AIADMK supremo Jayalalitha by a BJP MP and alleged that the "entire" party had been kept in "dark" about it.
