The PKA had also been entrusted with the responsibility of organising the international kabaddi tournament at Anandpur Sahib from April 10 to 13 during tercentenary celebrations. Besides, kabaddi teams from Pakistan, America, Canada, two teams from England, two from Punjab and one from Haryana would participate.

The winner of the tourney will receive a handsome cash award of one lakh followed by Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 for second, third and fourth spots. Singh, who is also senior vice president of Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India disclosed that the AKFI had granted recognition to circle style kabaddi and a special wing for its promotion had been created which would be headed by Balbir Singh.
