RIL commissions Jamnagar plant

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA  
MUMBAI, APR 11: Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has commissioned the 200,000 metric tonne first line of 600,000 metric tonne per annum (mta) polypropylene plant at its Jamnagar petrochemical complex in Gujarat ahead of schedule.

The start up of the first line of the polypropylene plant marks commissioning of RIL's first phase of Rs 5,500 crore integrated petrochemical complex, comprising 1.4 million mta paraxylene and 600,000 mta of polypropylene, a company release said here today.

Reliance already operates a 400,000 mta polypropylene plant at Hazira. With the completion of the Jamnagar project, the company would produce 1 million mta of polypropylene to become the fifth largest polypropylene producer in the world.
