PUNE, April 11: Beginning Saturday, Puneites have at their disposal the Pune-Gorakhpur holiday special, a weekly train that will ply in April, May and June for the convenience of citizens during the summer months.According to station manager P S Kulkarni, the 153 Pune-Gorakhpur will depart from Pune at 4.05 pm every Saturday, touching Benares, to reach Gorakhpur on Monday. It is scheduled for April 10, 17, 24; May 1,8, 15, 22 and June 5. The 154 Gorakhpur-Pune will arrive at Pune every Wednesday at 9.30 am on April 14, 21, 28; May 5, 12, 19, 26; June 1 and 9.
The train will run in addition to the Gyan-Ganga that is already plying on the same route, twice in the week. Other holiday specials touching Pune include three that have started plying from Dadar the Dadar-Coimbatore, Dadar-Secunderabad and Dadar-Nagarcoil; one that is plying between Chatrapati Shivaji terminus and Ernakulam and two starting at Ahmedabad for Madras and Secunderabad.
