Crime Watch -- Vadodara

Chain snatching
An unidentified man riding a motorcycle snatched a gold chain worth Rs 8,000 from the neck of one Khemilaben Koli, a resident if D-115, Surabhi Park, Part II, Manjelpur, on Saturday evening. According to the police, the woman was standing outside her house when the accused approached her after parking his motorcycle and forcibly pulled the chain and escaped. A case under Section 392 of IPC has been registered.

Vehicles stolen
Four vehicles were stolen from different parts of the city during the last 24 hours. According to the police, a Maruti car (GJ-6-AA-8470) worth Rs three lakh was stolen from bungalow no 6, Milan Kunj Society, Nizampura, on Saturday night, while a Bajaj scooter (GJT-3409) worth Rs 4,000 was lifted from the main gate of the Kahnderao Market at 8.30 am on Saturday. While a Sunny moped (GJ-6-LL-5053) was stolen from the Railway Staff College, another Sunny moped (GJ-6-N-1070) was stolen from the parking lot of Sat Apartments in Raopura. Investigations are on.

Tortured
A resident of Kalyan Nagar Society, near Sabari School on Vasna Road, on Saturday evening alleging that she was tortured by her husband and in-laws for not bringing enough dowry. The J P Road police has registered a case against three people and investigating.

Injured
One Ashishkumar Gopaldas, a resident of B-8, Natraj Society, Nizampura, sustained injuries when the motorcycle he was riding on, was hit by a speeding Maruti car (GJ-6-AA-2921) near Fertiliser Park near Natraj Society on Saturday afternoon. The Fatehgunj police have registered a under Section 279 and 337 of IPC and 184, 173 and 134 of Motor Vehicles Act.
