Fun times for children
Parents have yet another option on how to keep their kids busy this May. Jack and Ratna, creators of Marney, The Dancing Dinosaur, are back this summer with a summer vacation camp for 25 children in age group of five and 15. Jack explains that this five-day camp, from April 19 to 23, will begin everyday at 10.00 a.m. and end at 5.00 p.m.

Children will be picked up from home and dropped back in the evening. During the day, they will visit the Katraj Snake Park, Katraj Dairy, the Aga Khan Palace and the Empress Botanical Garden. They will also have painting competitions, television shows, story telling, interactions with Marney, personality development and games.

Catch 22
Twenty-two of Vidya Dengle's water colours are at display at Holiday Inn's Inn Galleria, beginning Monday. This is Dengle's second exhibition in the city. She has also exhibited her work in Mumbai and Bangalore. A trained violinist in Hindustani classical music, Dengle also has a degree from the J.J. School of Art, Mumbai and has taken up painting as a hobby. ``The theme I have chosen this time is a mixture of dance and nature in abstract form.'' The exhibition will be on display till April 18 between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Kids in the kitchen
Tarla Dalal, the well-known cookbook author, was in Pune on April 11 at Crossword, the bookshop, to launch her latest book - Cooking With Kids. This book is the first of its kind, being by the children and for the children.

At the launch, a couple of recipes from the book were demonstrated, no, not by Dalal, but by two children aged 12 and seven. The book contains more than 50 recipes, most of which do not require the adults to fuss around; they can leave the job to the young 'uns. Priced at Rs. 230, the book is sure to occupy a prominent place in the young, enthusiastic cook's collection of precious items.
