Srivastava is CBDT member

O P Srivastava has joined as a member of the Central Board of Direct Taxes. Srivastava belongs to the 1964 batch of Indian Revenue Service (IRS).

Srivastava has worked as Commissioner of Income Tax, Mumbai from 1987 to 1996 and has also been part of investigations into the securities scam. He was promoted and posted as Director General of Income Tax (Inv) in Mumbai in March 1996. In May 1997, he was transferred and posted in Delhi as Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (CCIT). Before his promotion as member, CBDT, Srivastava was working as DGIT (Admn).

NAB course in rehabilitation

The Department of Rehabilitation of the National Association for the Blind (NAB) will hold a free course in rehabilitation for the visually impaired on May 4. No formal education is required for the course. Selected trainees will be given a stipend every month. Free boarding and lodging facilities will also be provided to trainees outside Mumbai. The age limit for the course is 18 to 50years. Programmes for kids, adults

The YMCA's student branch has announced summer programmes for children and adults. Drawing and crafts, ceramics, gift wrapping, box making, salad dressing, chocolate making, stain glass painting, candle making, English conversation, English grammar classes and calligraphy will be taught in these programmes. NMIMS holds get-togethern THE Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) held its alumni get-together MILAP on April 11, which was attended by over 500 full-time ex-students. Seminar on Parkinson's

The Indian Medical Association is organising a free public awareness seminar on Parkinson's disease on April 25 at 10.30 am at the Rotary Service Centre, Juhu Tara Road, Santacruz (west). Neurologists will speak on various aspects of the disease. For queries, contact Dr Akil Contractor on 6127481.
