Factory manager robbed at Kurla

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
MUMBAI, April 13: Five unidentified men ambushed two factory employees and escaped with the Rs 4.2 lakh they were carrying at around 10.30 am on the LBS marg on Monday. The employees had withdrawn the money from the State Bank of India branch near Sheetal Cinema and were heading to Mukand Iron and Steel factory at Kamani junction, Kurla (west).

Barely had the taxi in which the money was being transported driven about 100 meters along the busy LBS Marg when a white Maruti van allegedly pulled alongside. Five armed men got down from the vehicle and threatened the factory manager Surya Ved and guard Suresh Kadam with handguns and choppers.

The men reportedly managed to snatch a rifle from the guard.
