121 RJP men switch over to Congress
The 121 members of the Rashtriya Janata Party, who resigned recently, decided unanimously on Tuesday to join the Congress at the party's tribal rally scheduled for Wednesday, sources said.

Goods destroyed
Goods worth Rs 25 lakh were destroyed in a major fire in the Amyodaya Petrochem Products Pvt Ltd around midnight on Monday night. Five fire tenders worked for around five hours to extinguish the blaze, the cause of which could not be ascertained. No loss of life was reported.

Good wishes
City cricketers, including Dattaji Gaekwad and Kiran More, added their good wishes to the book being compiled by Emirates Airlines for the Indian World Cup cricket team at Hotel Welcomgroup on Tuesday. Kapil Dev will present the good-luck book to Azharuddin in Mumbai on April 18.

Fire-fighting Day
Fire-fighting skills will be displayed at the Polo Ground on Wednesday to mark Fire-Fighting Day. Mayor Bharti Vyas will preside over the function, which begins at 6 pm.

Statue garlanding
Dalit leader and general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party's slum cell will garland the Mehtawadi, Nagarwada, statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on Wednesday, his birth anniversary, at 7.30 am.

AGM today
The Annual General Board meeting of the Dakshin Baroda Sanskriti Parishad will be held on Wednesday at 7 pm at Sapna Hall, opp ONGC Colony, Makarpura.

Water supply
People drawing water from the Akota tank will receive the evening supply late on Thursday as the VMC will be working to lay a sluice valve near Shrenik Park Society in Akota.

Alumni meeting
Baroda Medical College alumni will meet at Baroda Nursing Home, Anandpura, at 4 pm on April 17 to discuss the international conference to be organised by the BMC Alumni Association in December.
