Purse stolen
An unidentified miscreant snatched a purse belonging to one Draupadiben Premkumar Parikh, a resident of Anand Society in Jetalpur area, on Monday evening, the police said. According to police, the women was standing outside her house around 8 pm when a youth approached her, snatched her purse -- containing Rs 700 -- and ran away. A case of robbery has been registered in the J P Road police station.

Dead
One Udesinh Sindha, a resident of Karakhri village of Padra taluka, who sustained serious injuries after being assaulted by Ghanshyam Sindha of the same village on Monday night, succumbed to his injuries in the SSG Hospital on Tuesday afternoon. His wife Mane, who was also injured in the process, is still under treatment in the SSG Hospital. A case of murder has been booked against the accused, who is absconding.

Theft
Music system worth Rs 5,175 was stolen from a car (GJ-6-K-3525) belonging to one Jaisukhbhai Shivlal Patel, on Monday night, the police said. According to a FIR filed in the Gorwa police station, the car was parked outside Patel's residence at A/2, Citizen Society, Gorva. A case has been registered and is being investigated.

Duped
One Nilamben Dipakbhai Thakkar, a resident of 25/146, Mayur Park Society, opposite Samata Shopping Centre, in Gorwa police station area, complained to the police on Tuesday that she was duped by an unidentified woman of ornaments and cash worth Rs 30,000. According to her complaint, an unidentified woman came to her house on March 17 and offered her `prasad' which she ate. Thakkar then fell unconscious, while the accused relieved her of gold ornaments and cash and escaped.

Assaulted
The Makarpura police registered a case against one Nadbhai Dhirajbhai Puniyar, a resident of Susan Crossing, GIDC Mani Road, for allegedly assaulting one Dineshbhai Dipabhai Damor of the same area on Tuesday. According to the police, the accused abused Damor and beat him up with sticks and injured him in the process as he had a brief conversation with the Puniyar's sister.
