Pradeep excels

NEW DELHI, April 13: An unbeaten 91 by Pradeep Chawla and a quick 76 by Chetan Sharma enabled RR Gymkhana triumph over Qutub Cricket Nursery (Mehrauli) by 180 runs in the Pool C match of the third All India Moonways JD Textile (under-19) challenge tournament.

Brief scores: RR Gymkhana: 293 for 7 (Chetan Sharma 76, Pradeep Chawla 91 not out, Joginder Singh 47, Kumdan Mehra 2 for 39) bt Qutub Cricket Nursery: 113 (Firoz Khan 24, Joginder Singh 3 for 17).

Chetanya sparkles
Man of the match Chetanya Sharma's all-round performace (44 not out and 3 for 30) helped DAV School (Shalimar Bagh) down Hans Raj Model School (Punjabi Bagh) by four wickets in the first Escon-Gyan Bharti inter-school (under-13) tournament.

Brief scores: Hans Raj School: 130 (Aditya Jain 50, Suchit Gupta 26, Saurav Jain 3 for 20, Chetanya Sharma 2 for 30) lost to DAV School: 132 for 6 (Chetanya Sharma 44 not out, Ravinder Singh 28, Neeraj Bansal 2 for 35).

East Delhi in semi-finals
Excellent knocks by Himanshu Mehta (71, 3 for 42) and Karanjeet Singh (57) enabled East Delhi defeat Alpine by 20 runs and reach the semi-final of the first Poolworld East Delhi (under-19) tournament.

Brief scores: East Delhi Club: 220 for 8 (Himanshu Mehta 71, Karanjeet Singh 57, Harish Kumar 3 for 21, Anubhav Rawat 3 for 46) bt Alpine: 200 (Harish Kumar 62, Gaurav Sehgal 24, Jitender Chaudhary 3 for 27, Himanshu Mehta 3 for 420.

Rajat hits century
An unbeaten 123 by Rajat Jaiswal and fine spell by Jitender Sachdeva (5 for 30) helped West Delhi Academy (Paschim Vihar) beat Vijay Mehra Academy by 15 runs in a one-day series at Paschim Vihar ground.
