Shibani & Aishwarya
On art's course
Move over sticky palette and grubby fingers, here comes the squeaky clean and mighty computer to help you with your artistic endeavours. Homepride Multimedia Pvt. Ltd. and Creative Club have come together to form `Kimaya.' They will start a foundation course next week to help those aged four and above in the field of computer art and aesthetics. The course will be limited to three months initially and will be conducted under the watchful eyes of Bal Wad, the renowned artist.

Once the students are familiarised with the concept of the paintbrush and details like line and form, they can move to the advanced course, provided they are selected for the same. The foundation course will cost Rs. 3,000. Those interested can contact Homepride Multimedia, Deep Bungalow Chowk, for more details.

Mirror, mirror on the wall...
When artist Rusi Rutnagar says ``reflection is central to artistic expression,'' he means it quite literally. For while other artists let flow their creative juices on the canvas, this Mumbai-based artist paints on mirrors and glass!

Rutnagar started on his creative journey more than 13 years ago and has today captured abstracts, figures and objects, sea and sandscapes to graphics, animals and portraits on the mirrored surface. The exhibition, appropriately called `Reflections,' will be inaugurated by Shobha De on April 21 at Le Meridien and will be open to the public on April 22 and 23 from 10.30 a.m. to 10.30 p.m. So if you thought mirrors only served a limited purpose - think again.

Charge of the Blue Brigade
Things sure are hotting up and we are not talking about the weather alone. A bevy of celebrity artists will descend on Pune on April 20 as part of the Pepsi-MTV World Cup Concert at the University of Pune ground. Kamaal Khan, Anaida, Rajeshwari Sachdeva and Usha Uthup will also perform at the venue. That's not all - the Cricket World Cup Trophy, specially flown in from London, will be unveiled at the concert with a laser show. The organisers assure us that this is the real thing - all 11 kg. of silver and gilt.

The events leading up to the big day include a road show - Pepsi Blue Brigade - on Saturday, Sunday and Monday - to distribute invitations to the people who are ``seen wearing the colour blue, drinking or just plain lucky.'' MTV VJ Amrita is to join the Blue Brigade and give away passes at Thunderbolt, Toons, Havana, Manmeet and Vaishali tomorrow evening. You can get more details on how to win more invitations from this newspaper.
