SGGSSS-35 outplayed Government High School-32 by 7 points while SPS-41 lads scored a facile win over 3 BRD Air Force School 25-1, 25-5, 25-7, in their last league encounter to take home the volleyball trophy.

In kho-kho six teams took part and SGGSSS-35 beat Guru Harkrishan Public School-40, by one turn and 8 points to set up title clash with GHS-32 who defeated SGGSSS-35 `B' by 8 points, in the second semifinal.

Maninder Singh and Ashwani Kumar scored most of the points for SGGSSS-35 in the semifinal and were the main scorers in the final also.

Vinod and Rajinder played well for GHS-32.

In volleyball, SPS-41 spikers maintained a clean slate in the tournament. In the second round SPS-41 beat SGGSSS-35, 25-15, 25-11, 25-15 and faced no opposition in scoring 25-1, 25-5, 25-7 win over 3BRD AF in their last league encounter.

In the other matches SGGSSS-35 defeated 3BRD 25-13, 25-16, 25-18 and DAV School-8 got the better of Guru Nanak Khalsa School-30, 25-8, 25-11, 25-15.

In another league match GNKS-30 beat 3BRD AF 25-19, 25-7, 25-11.

Shamsher wins
Shamsher Singh of India beat Mohammad Khan of Pakistan in the plus 97kg category in the wrestling competition held at village Hansali near Kharar.

According to information received here, contests in ten weight categories were held and the chief guest on the occasion was Dara Singh, former national champion and film star.
