BJP fall -- Assam almanac's prediction rings true finally

Samudra Gupta Kashyap
Guwahati, April 18: The prediction of renowned Assamese almanac Kalpurush Panjika, that the thirteen-month old Vajpayee Government would fall, has come true.

The Kalpurush Panjika, which is an annual volume compiled by the astrologers of Assam, had said that the Vajpayee Government stood strong possibilities of getting dislodged in the month of Vaishakh. The report was carried by The Indian Express.

``The Vajpayee Government will find it extremely difficult to run the country, with problems coming not just from the opposition parties, but from within the ruling alliance, and there is a strong possibility of it getting dislodged in the month of Vaishakh'', the Panjika had said.

The Kalpurush Panjika however is silent on who will form the government or whether the country will have to go for fresh Lok Sabha elections.

This Assamese almanac interestingly is considered one of the few very effective almanacs of the entire country, and it was this almanac which hadaccurately predicted, with date and place, the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi and the death of former Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) leader and Union Minister Dinesh Goswami, as also the earthquake of Latur.
