J-K judge narrowly escapes attack

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
RAJOURI, APRIL 18: Rajouri Sessions Judge K K Baroch had a narrow escape on Saturday when militants attacked his convoy at Behrot, seven km from Rajouri. One person was killed in the attack and four were injured, one of them seriously.

The incident occurred when the judge was returning from Thana Mandi where he had apparently gone for some official work. The occupants of Tata 407 which was in the front of the judge's vehicle bore the maximum brunt of the attack with Gulzar Hussain, resident of Parrori, dying on the spot and Constable Rakesh Kumar of Doda getting seriously injured. He has been shifted to Army Hospital.

Sources said the militants had apparently laid the trap for Rajouri DIG K Rajendra who had moved from the area in the morning enroute Chandimarh in Poonch. The DIG, however, returned from the other route.
