Sachin returns with a bang

Mumbai, April 18: Sachin Tendulkar made a spectacular return from a back injury, albeit in an exhibition clash, when he cracked an unbeaten century and picked up two wickets as the India-99 World Cup team beat India-83 XI by 88 runs in the Goodluck India tie here tonight.

Sachin piloted India-99 to 292 for four in 35 overs, by slamming an unconquered 115 (98 balls, 13x4, 3x6). He then bagged 2 for 37 as the victorious World Cup team of 1983, led by Kapil Dev were bowled out for 204.

India-99 XI 292-4 (S Tendulkar 115 not out, S Ramesh 78) bt India-83 XI 204 in 33.3 overs (K Srikkanth 45, Dilip Vengsarkar 44, Madan Lal 39, Tendulkar 2-37, Dravid 2-60).
