Dysfunctional classroom
It's happened once again. When two teenaged Rambos choreographed a danse macabre in a Denver school on Tuesday morning, leaving 16 dead and a nation hysterical with shock and disbelief, it was as much a comment on the violence-laced nature of contemporary reality, as a signpost to a fissured future.

Trouble in TDP
The leadership of the Telugu Desam Party cannot absolve itself of the responsibility of one of its MPs leaving the flock and supporting the Congress. This is not to suggest that inducement had not played any part in the controversial announcement of the MP, S. Vijayarama Raju.

Civil servants, not slaves
The line of intellectual liberty for the civil servants belonging to the all-India services was drawn last in the year 1968, when conduct rules for them were reformulated by the Central government under the powers granted by Parliament under the All-India Services Act.
