PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, APR 25: Rabo India, the Indian subsidiary of the 250 billion dollar Dutch finance company Rabobank International, is negotiating with the National Co-operative Development Corporation (NCDC) and National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD) for a strategic alliance to enter the field of agricultural credit in India."Government has asked the company to enter into a partnership with NCDC for its venture into the field of agricultural credit, where we feel foreign funds are heavily required," Agriculture Minister Sompal said. "Like all other foreign banks entering the Indian market, we have asked it to tie-up with the domestic credit institutions having requisite experience in this sector," he said, adding, "talks are on and it would take some time to finalise."
