NAGPUR, APRIL 25: There are indications that the high-profile Minister of State for Cultural Affairs and Education, Anil Deshmukh, might lose the guardian ministership of Wardha district. The State Government on Friday released its district-wise list of chief guests for official functions to celebrate Maharashtra Day on May 1. The list released at Mumbai has the name of Minister of State for Law and Judiciary, Dilip Sopal, as the chief guest at Wardha district's Maharashtra Day function.Elsewhere in the State, all guardian ministers have been named as the chief guests for the function in their respective districts. Deshmukh, the Independent MLA from Katol, has been replaced by Sopal, another Independent.Official chief guests have also been named for the newly-created districts, the formation of which will become official on Maharashtra Day. So far, the formation of these districts is only by way of political announcements and official notifications are awaited.
In Gondia, the chief guest will be FinanceMinister Mahadeorao Shivankar, whereas the Minister of State for Commerce, Ramesh Gajbe, will do the honours in the remaining Bhandara district. Similarly, Cooperation Minister, Jaiprakash Mundhada, will be the chief guest in the new Hingoli district and Housing Minister, Sureshdada Jain, will hoist the flag for the remaining Parbhani district.
Sources in Mumbai say that a new list of guardian ministers is likely to be announced before Maharashtra Day.
