Tribute to Gujarati poet

Cultural organisation Sangeeta will hold a musical programme of Gujarati poet Kalapi's poems on April 28 of the late poet's 125th birth anniversary. His poems will be musically rendered by reputed singers like Ghanshyam Vaswani, Krushanu Mazumdar, Rekha Trivedi and Neha Mehta. Suren Thakar `Mehul' will conduct this musical, and Dilip Parikh, Dilip Raval, Siddhi Zaveri and Malti Parikh will present their views on the works of Kalapi. The programme will be held at Dinanath Auditorium, Vile Parle (E) at 8.15 pm and at Tejpal, Gowalia Tank on May 8 at 8.15 pm. For more details, contact Navin Shah on 8070525.

Eyesight camp by Sampoorna

The Sampoorna School For Perfect Eyesight will hold a camp from May 1 to 15 at Santa Cruz (East). The camp will be conducted by Raj, a former therapist from Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry. Noparking on footpaths

The traffic department has requested motorists not to park their motor vehicles on footpaths as it is an offence under section 15 (2) (ii) of Rules of Road Regulation 1989.

The traffic control branch has been initiating a special drive against motorists parking vehicles on the footpath during the period from November 1998 to March 1999 during which 29,060 motorists have been booked.

Summer career counselling

Career Counselling will be conducted for SSC/HSC/ICSE and college students during May 3-26, 1999 at St. Xaviers Institute of Education, 40-A New Marine Lines, Churchgate, Mumbai 400 020 (tel. 2072307). Three morning sessions (8-12 pm each) for conducting aptitude tests and job-search and decision-making skills and one afternoon session (3-5 pm) for discussion of results with parents, will be held. A Career Exhibition with Vocational Literature will also be on display.

Camp on better eyesight
