The truck was coming from Gwalior. The driver and his helper managed to escape, the police said.

Cheats held
Two persons have been arrested by the south district police for duping people and making off with jewellery and goods in lieu of fake currency notes today. The police have recovered three gold rings, one camera, one Sony music system, one juicer-mixer-grinder and a TV from their possession.

The police reportedly received a complaint on April 20, that a woman, Manju, had been cheated of her gold earrings and Rs 400 by two young men aged between 18 to 20 years near Mohan Co-operative Industrial Area in Badarpur. The complaint said that the two had reportedly `bought' the ornaments for Rs 10,000. And the men had apparently paid her the money in a bundle of Rs 100 notes. Only the notes on top and bottom were real and rest were allegedly fake play money.

The investigations reportedly led the police to the house of one Mohammad Hasin, who was later identified by the complainant and he admitted that he had duped the lady along with his accomplice Ganthu.
