NOIDA, April 27: They stole cars from Noida replaced their licence plates with fake ones carrying symbols of the various political parties. The Sector 24 police have arrested six car-jackers and have seized seven cars and three two-wheelers.According to the police, the Station House Officer of the Sector 24 Police Station on a routine check yesterday, spotted two cars one without a plate and a Maruti (DL 1CE 7838). The drivers were unable to satisfy the queries of the police party. Later, they reportedly confessed to stealing these cars and also reportedly told the police that they were working as an organised gang in western UP.
The men also allegedly said that the gang had stolen more than half a dozen cars from Noida over the past eight months. They revealed that they used to punch in the engine and chassis numbers of the car before disposing these of. The accused have been identified as Ashok, Arif, Rayees, Rampal, Asrakh and Sarikh. They are reportedly from Bulandshahar district.
