Cholera outbreak - `Under control'

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, April 30: Suspected cases of gastroenteritis and cholera continued to be registered at different hospitals in the Capital, even as mobile dispensaries were dispatched to the affected areas and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) maintained that the situation was well under control today. ``So far, 1,350 gastroenteritis and 186 cholera cases have been reported,'' said Dr Balraj Gupta, executive member of the IMA's south Delhi branch.

The IMA held a camp at one of the worst affected areas, DDA flats, Kalkaji in south Delhi yesterday, where ORS packets and medicines were distributed to the people. They were also told how to make ORS solutions,'' he said. Dr Balraj said most of the cases were reported from south Delhi.
