MUMBAI, April 30: Tu Thite Me walked away with the bulk of awards bagging as many as four awards at the 36th Marathi Chitrapat Mahotsav awards function held at the Shamukananda hall on Friday evening.Tu Thite Me bagged the best film, best actress (Suhas Joshi), best male singer (Ravindra Sathe) and best female singer (Jayahree Jayram) awards. The best actor award went to Dileep Prabhawalkar for his role in Ratra Andhar.
At an impressive awards function, which saw a mingling of politicians with film stars from both the Hindi and Marathi film industry, special awards were given to Kuldeep Pawar for Lakshmi Ali Sarsarla and Smita Jaykar for Satva Pariksha.
The V Shantaram Award and the Raj Kappor Award of the State Government were bagged by Sunita Gupte Joglekar and the late Kidar Sharma who passed away just yesterday. His award was accepted by his son.
Chief Minister Narayan Rane while speaking on the occasion said that the Shiv Shahi government will do its best to promote and encouragetheatre. He also announced an increase in the State Government grant to the Marathi film industry from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 16 lakh.
