There was a keen contest in the boys group, which can be gauged from the fact that the outcome of the match was decided in the last 15 seconds.

Earlier, Sports Complex took the lead and were up by three points at the break (13-10).

In the second session, DAV-8 cagers fought back strongly and gained the upper hand in the last five minutes of the game (28-27). But, thereafter, they fumbled under the opponents ring, which put paid to their aspiration to retain the title.

Japreet took maximum advantage of his height and shot 15 points. Suresh (9), Chander Prakash (8) and Harminder Singh (5) also contributed to the score.

For DAV-8 Amrish top scored with 19 points. Harjot also sunk 13 points for the loser.

The contest in the girls section proved to be one-sided affair. SAI girls dominated the encounter and were leading by four points at the break (14-10). In the second session, GMHS Club girls were unable to penetrate the rival defence and could net only five points.
