CHANDIGARH, May 4: Flankers Ball Badminton Club and Government Model Senior Secondary School-33 won the girls and boys titles, respectively, in the fifth Chandigarh State ball badminton championship, which concluded at the Shivalik Public School-41, here today. FBB Club beat Shivalik Public School-41 by 29-21, 19-29, 29-20 while Govt Model School-33 beat Sri Guru Gobind Singh School-35 by 29-25, 24-29, 29-26.Third place in the girls category went to Govt Model School-21, who defeated Govt Model School-37 by 29-19, 29-11.
SPS-41 beat MDAV-22 by 12-29, 29-19, 29-12, to win the third position in the boys group. Amit Bhalla and Jadgeep Kaur were adjudged the best players in the boys and girls section, respectively.
During the meet Chandigarh team in both boys and girls section were selected to take part in the forthcoming National meet to be held at Allahabad from May 24 to 28.
