Fake motor parts seized, 18 held

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA  
MUMBAI, May 6: As part of a special drive aiming to check vehicular pollution in the city, the police have arrested 18 persons and seized spurious vehicle spare parts worth over Rs 21 lakh. This was announced by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Zone II) Dr K Venkatesham, who led the special drive, today.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police told presspersons that spurious automobile parts, especially bearings and low-quality oil are being sold rampantly in the market. This has led to the depreciation of vehicles as well as contributed considerably to vehicular pollution. More seizures are likely to be affected in the near future, he informed.
