Accountant booked for cheating

CHANDIGARH, May 7: An accountant of a local textile firm has been booked for allegedly cheating the firm of nearly Rs 30 lakh.

Police sources said that R. K. Sharma of Jajoo textiles in Sector 9 here alleged that his employee Vikram Tandon, who is employed with the firm as an accountant, cheated the firm of more than Rs 30 lakh.

Tandon, who is a resident of Sector 38, made false entries in the record and withdrew money from bank accounts by forging signatures on the cheques, it was alleged. The police have registered a case of forgery and cheating against Tandon under Section 420, 408, 467 and 468 of the Indian Penal code.

One injured in accident
A woman, Sonia was injured when her car reportedly rammed into a Haryana Roadways Bus. The accident took place on the road separating Sectors 21 and 34.
