Yoga can cure incurable diseases

CHANDIGARH, May 7: `Yoga is a complete science in itself and a system of treatment which could cure any disease, including chronic diseases without administering any drug. It could cure incurable diseases provided practised under the supervision of a person having thorough knowledge of yoga,'' said Prof M. Lall, an eminent exponent of yoga here today.

He said that the yoga teaches the people the right way of lifestyle with minimal intake of medicines. He advised the people to practise `aasans' as these does not require much time and expertise. He pleaded that yoga should be introduced in the school curriculum. Any system accepted by the masses can gain popularity. Yoga is becoming popular throughout the globe. Western countries have understood its importance.

Lall claimed that he had cured 50,000 asthmatics and cervical spondylitis patients and can cure one lakh more patients suffering of this deadly disease. He had developed simple yoga `aasans' and `pranayam' which could enable a person to live without tension and to control tension by taking deep breaths. A normal person take 16 breaths in a minute. More the breaths taken in a minute leads to disease and death, he added.

Lall said that if people start practising yoga at an early age, it would reduce the long queues before the hospitals to a greater extent. Man could live longer with simple and balanced life and diet and good moral character. He said one should enjoy food but its intake should be less, it would set the stomach right and make the man healthy, he added.

By practising `pranayam', one can cure the disease of hard hearing and could revive the sense of smell if dead in a person.

He urged the public to take advantage of the the free yoga camps organised at Panchkula, Chandigarh and SAS Nagar. Tomorrow he will be available from 5 to 6 a.m. Sector 7, Panchkula for mental peace session, from 6 to 8 a.m. at Sector 12, Yoga Chikitsalya, 4.30 to 6 p.m. at Sanatam Dharam Mandir, Phase 4 SAS Nagar and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sector 30, Chandigarh. On May 9 from 6 to 8 a.m. at Nehru Yuva Kendra, Sector 21 Chandigarh 8 a.m. to 12 noon at Sector 30, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Sector 30 and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Sector 7 Panchkula to cure the patients.
