South Africa display professional attitude
Watching South Africa play their warm-up game against Kent, it is easy to see why they are favourites to win the World Cup. Their cricket is marked by two qualities: cold precision and hot intensity. Even allowing for the fact that they were playing a declining county side, their approach was dead serious and their tune-up purposeful. They batted with skillful extravanganza to make 320 for 6 in 50 overs and then bowled and fielded like vigorously. It will take luck, pluck, and a lot more to beat this side. But more of all that later.

Easy for Rushmi
Top seeded Rushmi Chakraborty and third seed Radhika Tulpule won their first round matches easily on the opening day of the Bank of Baroda ITF Women's Masters Tennis Championship in Lucknow. Rushmi Chakraborty defeated Arthi Venkatraman 6-3, 6-1.
