Boy sodomised; no case registered

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
KHARAR, May 14: An 11-year-old local boy was allegedly sodomised by two persons last Saturday but the local police have not registered a case in this connection though the matter was reported to the police on the same night.

The father of the victim, who is a worker at a private factory in S. A. S. Nagar, said the incident took place when his son returned home from school on May 8. He alleged that two persons, namely Jai Pal and Sukh Pal, both residents of the same colony, came to his house and forcibly took his son to the nearby fields.

At that time, he himself was out on duty and his wife, who is a maid-servant, was also away to work. The victim's two brothers were at home, but they were locked from outside by the culprits.

He said when he returned in the evening, the boy was crying and his dress had blood stains. After the boy narrated his ordeal, his father rushed to the city police post and reported the incident to the police officials present there. The police officials recorded his statement and assured him suitable action.

The boy's father alleged that the police officials have restrained him from conducting boy's medical examination.

The victim's father has alleged that despite repeated requests the police have failed to initiate any legal action against the culprits, who were threatening him and his family with dire consequences. Rather, the police officials were pressurising him to reach a compromise, he alleged.

He has sought a high-level probe into the whole affair and demanded a stern legal action against the culprits as well as the guilty police officials.

Kharar Deputy Superintendent of Police and Station House Office were not available for comments despite repeated attempts.
