Double crown for Sania Mirza

NEW DELHI, May 14: Sania Mirza of Andhra Pradesh claimed a `double' in the girls section of the Adidas Junior Tennis Circuit at the DLTA courts here today.

In both the under-16 and under-14 finals, top-seeded Sania Mirza defeated Delhi's Ankita Bhambri, the second seed. While in the senior section, she beat the Delhi girl in straight sets, she dropped the first set in tie-breaker before winning the next two sets with comfort.

Chandigarh's No. 2 seed Amanjot Singh upset top seed C S Mohanty of Delhi in straight games in the boys under-16 final. Another Chandigarh boy, Tushar Liberhan won the under-14 contest with a 6-0, 6-0 defeat of No.2 seed Wirk Ganguly of Delhi.

Results (All Finals)
Boys under-16: Amanjot Singh (Chandigarh) bt C S Mohanty (Delhi) 7-6 (3), 6-3.
Boys under-14: Tushar Liberhan (Chandigarh) bt Wirk Ganguly (Delhi) 6-0, 6-1.

Girls under-16: Sania Mirza (Andhra Pradesh) bt Ankita Bhambri (Delhi) 6-4, 6-2.
Girls under-14: Sania Mirza (Andhra Pradesh) bt Ankita Bhambri (Delhi) 6-7 (3), 6-0, 6-4.
