The youth was caught by the victim's family-members, beaten up, and handed over to the police. He confessed to his crime to the police during interrogation on Monday.

The police said that the youth picked up the child from her house around 8.30 pm and took her to his house and raped her. The girl was found crying inconsolably by her father and others, who later found out that she had been sexually assaulted.
