VADODARA, MAY 17: Officials of the Vadodara division of the Western Railways recovered Rs 2,19,533 during a recent four-day drive.During the drive, launched to check ticketless travel, the officials detected 1,824 passengers travelling without tickets and 194 cases of unbooked luggage. One of the divisional officials said, ``Ticketless travel was always checked during such drives but this was a new trend which was detected.''
He added that the 194 cases which were booked were primarily cases of people travelling with excess luggage without permission. Five people were prosecuted for violating the law and fined, he said.
