EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
SAS NAGAR, MAY 18: The employees union of the Punjab School Education Board today observed strike against the delay on part of the authorities in accepting their demands.

According to union president H.S. Billa, the strike will continue till their demands are not met and claimed that the work of the examination branch of the board had been totally paralysed. He further said if their demands are not met by tomorrow then the strike will spread to all the departments of the board.

Union general secretary Jar Nail Singh Brar said they were forced to adopt the path of agitation as their demands relating to the taking back of the cases against 26 employees for not issuing the roll numbers in time, taking back of the case against three union leaders who spoke against the misuse of board vehicles, direct recruitment of employees in the board and the land transfer issue were turned down by the department.

Meanwhile, Gurdev Singh Sidhu, vice-chairman of the board said if the strike was not taken back by tomorrow then the "no work-no pay" rule would be applied. He said all the genuine demands had been met and these were just pressure tactics being adopted by the staff.
