Easy for Central Secretariat, FCI

NEW DELHI, May 18: Central Secretariat and Food Corporation of India (HQ) scored easy victories in the DSA-OBC Institutional Football League championship at the Ambedkar Stadium here today.

In a group 1 match, Central Secretariat beat Engineers India Limited 4-0 after leading 2-0 at the interval. Incidentally, this was second successive loss of EIL. For winners, Rajesh Sundriyal, Ravinder Valida, Dalip Bhandari and S.K. Biswas struck.

In a group 3 encounter, FCI prevailed over Indian Airlines 5-1. By the interval the winners had taken a 2-0 lead and on changing ends struck three while they allowed their rivals to pull one back. The highlight of FCI game was a fine hat-trick by Dinesh Rawat who struck the last three goals. The other goal-scorers for FCI were Bikramjit and Rajesh Arya who opened the account for the winner.For Airlines Puran reduced the margin. Goyal move upnGoyal Club outwitted LB Shastri by four wickets to reach the quarter-final of the first Ramesh Chand Kangra memorial tournament at Ashok Vihar. In another match, SD Rural Youth prevailed over Young Star by one wicket to enter the semi-final.

Brief scores: LB Shastri: 185 (Dilip TT 85, Rajan Gupta 36, Sonu Vaid 3 for 37) lost to Goyal Club: 186 (Vishal Razdan 41, Harpreet 37, Parshant Mehta 2 for 12). SD Rural: 207 (Naveen 49, Manjeet 77 not out, Anil Verma 4 for 41) bt Young Star: 205 (Anil Verma 76, Vijender Khasi 61, Manjeet Singh 4 for 33).

Cricket camp
The Central Civil Services Cultural and Sports Board will organise cricket coaching camp for dependents of Central Govt. employees from May 24 to June 30 between 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm at Vinay Marg ground. For detail contact 6883230 or 4624204.
