French flagship arrives in city

The flagship of the French Task Force in the Indian Ocean, the fleet tanker Somme arrived in Mumbai on Wednesday on a five-day visit.

Soon after the arrival, the French Ambassador Claude Blanche Masion and Rear Admiral Jean Louis Battet, Commander of the French Naval Task Force in the Indian Ocean called on Vice Admiral Madhvendra Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Naval Command at the command headquarters and discussed matters of mutual interest. During their five-day-long stay in Mumbai, the crew will visit Mazagon Docks Ltd, Naval Dockyard and go onboard the destroyer INS Ranvir.

Admissions to computer courses

Admissions to the following courses by the SNDT Women's University are open: Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science and Applications (PGDCSA) (1 year, full-time) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) (3 years, full-time). The PGDCSA curriculum has a combination of pure computer science subjects and applications, while the MCAcourse aims at training qualified personnel for the computer industry.

Forms and prospectus can be picked up from the department on payment of Rs 500 in cash or by post for DD of Rs 550 till June 25. An aptitude test will be held on July 4 at 9.30 am. Japanese language classes

The Indo-Japanese Association is conducting classes to teach Japanese. Basic I and II for beginners, semi-advance and advance courses will be offered.
