Chandigarh, May 19: The Punjab University entrance examinations for various postgraduate courses, earlier scheduled to be held between June 8 and June 12, will now be held from June 16 to June 20.The entrance exams for LLB, LLM, MCA, PGDCA, M.Com, Master of Mass Communication (MMC), B.Lib, M.Ed, MA (education), MA (Physical Education), M.Sc (Honours School) and M.Sc have been rescheduled.
The decision was reportedly taken at a meeting of student leaders with the PU officials this evening.
However, the stalemate over the condonation of lectures of nearly 200 students who have been denied roll numbers persisted, with the students demanding scrapping of the sub-committee that rejected the cases, on the grounds that there was only one teacher in the four-member committee.
Meanwhile, the students' hungr strike entered the second day today.
The meeting with the Dean University Instructions (DUI), the Controller of Examinations and the Secretary to the V-C was attended by PUCSC president D. P. S. Randhawa, secretary Akhil Goyal, Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) campus unit president Neeraj Sharma and a few other students.
The members of Panjab University Students Union (PUSU), meanwhile, met the syndics today and requested them to reconsider the cases of those whose roll numbers were rejected due to shortage of lectures, according to union president Lakhjeet Singh. He had earlier made a representation to the Controller, seeking postponement of entrance tests.
